About Susquehanna Glass

Built upon a tradition of pride in craftsmanship and service, Susquehanna Glass has been in the business of making things personal since 1910.

As a quality decorator of glassware, our techniques include deep-etching by hand on a stone wheel; sand blasting; silk screening; and laser etching.

It all began in 1910 when Albert Roye installed his first glass cutting machine in a small shed behind his house and opened the Susquehanna Glass Factory Store. This launched a business that would continue for three generations. Two years later, Albert's brother Walter joined the business. As business grew, it became time to move operations across the street to its present location.

Today, laser cutters, pad printers, and sand blasters are operated along side stone wheel cutters operated by master craftsmen just as they did one hundred years ago. No machine can truly duplicate the work of a master craftsman whose steady hand and trained eye practice this precise and difficult art of glass cutting.

Walt Rowen, grandson of Walter Roye, serves as President where craftsmanship and customer service continue to be the driver of all aspects of operations.

Today, Susquehanna Glass provides products and services to some of America's premier retailers and companies, including Williams Sonoma, Lenox, Riedel, Restoration Hardware, David's Bridal and the National Cathedral to name just a few. If it's a high quality product and it's personalized, there's a good chance it came from a 100 year old company in Columbia, Pennsylvania.
